What’s the primary concern with students using a website in the classroom? Security, security, security!

We’re in a day and age where protecting children and students on the Internet is THE number one priority for schools and teachers.

GoAnimate for Schools has you covered!

We’ve always had many layers of privacy and security on GoAnimate for Schools. Each implementation is a private “walled garden” with its own unique private URL. All user accounts are created within the site so outsiders can’t get in. Students do not have sharing privileges so they cannot send their personal information out. Additionally, we never collect student information. Within the “walled garden”, we also have group management and content moderation features that allow teachers to put up “interior walls”, so to speak.

And yet, today, that just isn’t enough — so we went one step further. Now, every GoAnimate for Schools site has SSL enabled to add one more level of protection for teachers and their students. Instead of visiting an HTTP site, your GoAnimate for Schools site has one more letter: HTTPS.

Here’s some information on SSL:

SSL stands for “Secure Sockets Layer.” SSL is a secure protocol for sending information securely over the Internet. SSL encrypts the data being transmitted so that a third party cannot “eavesdrop” on the transmission and view the data being transmitted. Only the user’s computer and the secure server are able to recognize the data.

As always, let us know if you have suggestions for the site. Shoot us an email, Tweet at us, or send us a message on Facebook.

Happy animating!
